Paper is the most accessible and affordable support for artworks made of ink, pencil, charcoal, watercolor, or pastel. The invention of the printing press and the subsequent digital revolution changed the art market by allowing artists to not only easily reproduce high-quality prints, but to also multiply their creative options. In turn, this gave birth to the digital artist.
