Abstract

Theoretically, the term abstract means to withdraw or separate something from something else. Abstract art was conceived as an art style that depicts a visual reality with the use of colours, shapes, gestural marks or forms but it does not attempt to be an accurate depiction of a visual reality separating the real image or object from the representation of the mind and the senses. Abstract art became a central piece of modern art since the early 1900s.
