Born in Lagos on the 20th January 1987, Babatunde Kesa is a well known Nigerian artist. He is a graduate of Federal Polytechnic, Auchi, with a distinction in Painting, and had the best 2014 graduating result in Painting. Kesa also completed a six-week fellowship residency program with OYASAF from the 2nd January 2015 to 16th February 2015.


Kesa has been significantly influenced by the artworks of colorists and abstract expressionists. Inspired by his immediate environment, life, thoughts, and experiences, Kesa seeks to educate viewers on the culture, places, and issues that affect the lives of the people in his society; from their unconscious state of mind to a conscious state, through his artworks.

Achievements

Babatunde Kesa's collections can be found in different art galleries including Alexis Art Gallery, Iwalewa Art Gallery, and Ogirikan art gallery. His works can also be found in the private collection of Yemisi Shyllon, a well known Nigerian art collector. His other achievements are:


1. Commissioned portrait of Governor Godswill Akapabio, former Governor of Akwa-Ibom State,2016.

2. Commissioned mural painting at Five Cowries terminal, Ikoyi, Lagos, 2020. 

3. He was one among the six selected artist that painted on Coca-Cola bottle to commemorate their 65th anniversary.
