Terra Kulture Art Gallery is a part of Terra Kulture Arts and Studios, a multifunctional cultural, educational, and recreational organization that was set up in 2003 to promote the richness and diversity of Nigerian languages, arts, and culture, by Mrs. Bolanle Austen-Peters. The organization was founded based on Mrs. Austen-Peters’ abiding passion and respect for all cultures and her observation that there were few institutions effectively supporting Nigerian culture and providing the right ambiance for Nigerians and foreigners to learn about Nigeria’s cultural and linguistic heritage.

The Terra Kulture Art Gallery portrays the richness of Nigerian culture through the abundant talent of its artistes, where it finds the most expression. With numerous pieces showcasing some of the finest works of Nigerian artists, the Terra Kulture Art Gallery is a destination all on its own for any art enthusiast in Lagos. The Terra Kulture art gallery features a remarkable collection of paintings, photographs, and sculptures, including the works of some of Nigeria’s most revered names. In line with its aim of promoting and showcasing the best of Nigerian art and culture, the Terra Kulture Art Gallery provides a platform for new and emerging talent, alongside older, more established names. Since inception, the Terra Kulture art gallery has organized, funded and provided space for no less than 30 exhibitions and now boasts a reputation as one of the premier art exhibition venues in Nigeria. The gallery has been in partnership with the Ford Foundation since inception.

In addition to the Terra Kulture Art Gallery, the Terra Kulture Arts and Studios organization comprises of the Nigerian language and craft school, reading and documentation centre, food lounge and the Terra Arena, a multipurpose theatre. In its 16 years of existence Terra Kulture has organized over 30 art exhibitions , 135 plays, 65 book readings and over 10.000 individual adults and children, as well as school trips, have attended our language classes. In 2009 Terra Kulture established the Terra Kulture Auction house, one of only 2 art auction houses in Nigeria. The Auction House has organized numerous art auctions in Lagos and Abuja.
