Victoria Ndubuisi was born in Lagos, Nigeria on May 8th, 1996. She obtained a National Diploma and a Higher National Diploma in Fine and Applied Art, majoring in Painting, from Yaba College of Technology, Lagos State, Nigeria in 2017 and 2020, respectively. She received practical training at Gaffa Art Gallery, Badagry, Lagos.
Victoria is a multidimensional visual artist who creates hyper-realism and impressionism works. Her works are deeply rooted in her background, she grew up surrounded by beautiful art and creativity. She began her artistic career at the age of twelve when she discovered her passion for drawing.
With her work, she aims to show different narratives of happenings, emotions and moods around her, and give a voice to people who cannot speak out about their predicaments. Her art experience started from Badagry, Lagos where she was surrounded by art and creativity, in addition to going to the museum and meeting some local artists, she was also inspired to become an art lover. She developed her skills from makeup, before moving on to painting. Victoria paints to express her feelings through oil on canvas, she has also explored working with mixed media. In addition to painting, which is her major form of expression, she has explored several forms of art such as; water painting, murals, pencil sketch and sculpture.
Victoria captures her subjects with brushes and painstaking details to achieve hyper-realistic effect. Through viewing her works, she intends to let her work breathe life into a long forgotten experience for her audience. Victoria writes poems with her art to captivate her audience and interpret her inspirations towards her works.
