Aworanka Enters Exclusive Frame Production Partnership with Framegidi

LAGOS, Nigeria (January 18, 2022) - The online platform for African art Aworanka has signed an exclusive partnership agreement with Framegidi, Nigeria’s foremost custom framing company. The agreement, which takes effect from January 2022, makes Framegidi the official frame production partner for artworks sold by Aworanka.

The agreement was made official in a document signed by Ana Acha, Founder/CEO of Aworanka, and Dapo Salami, COO/Creative Director of Framegidi on January 13, 2022.

"Frames are an integral part of a piece of art. Frames enhance the look of an artwork and add value and meaning to the piece but, most importantly, good framing is key to protecting paper from moisture, light, and the effects of time. This becomes even more important when the piece needs extra protection to be exported and shipped to different continents,” Ms. Acha said.

Aworanka, which was founded in 2020, has become a major online platform and marketplace for African art, serving individuals and corporates from the continent and globally since its inception. Within its first full year of operation, the art trading and advisory platform successfully staged its debut exhibition in partnership with GAIA Africa and will be having its sophomore exhibition – an exclusively all-female artist show – in February 2022, with artworks by fourteen (14) participating artists from Spain, Portugal, Kazakhstan, Cameroon and Nigeria going up on display at the GAIA House in Victoria Island, Lagos, Nigeria.

On the choice of Framegidi as the perfect frame production partner for Aworanka, Ms. Acha said: “We wanted a partner that would focus on quality as much as in attention to detail. In this regard, we are very happy to partner with Framegidi.”

Framegidi is a Nigerian company founded with a mission to take the hassle out of custom framing by creating affordable custom framing for the average African without them having to step out of their homes. The company offers both framing and printing services for domestic and professional spaces as well as memorializing landmark events and moments.

“We are a very young company committed to the maximum level of excellence,” noted Dapo Salami, COO/Creative Director of Framegidi. “In a matter of months our company has grown exponentially and our clients have demonstrated an appreciation of our efforts in working expeditiously.”

Coming at a time when the demand for legitimately acquired artworks by African artists is on the surge globally, Framegidi’s reputation for delivering quality, fitting, visually-appealing custom frames and Aworanka’s position as one of the continent’s trusted art platforms make this collaboration a synergistic event for the continued dominance of works by African artists in the international art market.
