Sculptures
The earliest human fossils were found in Africa. Very early on these humans explored sculpture with clay for both ritualistic and practical purposes, using it to express their beliefs and create everyday utensils. It was not until the 1960s and 70s that the art form evolved into conceptual sculpture solely with an artistic purpose. Wood, copper, iron, and clay are the best-known medium of African sculpture. Aworanka offers you a glimpse into the intricate work of the modern African sculptor.
