Bodies without clothes appeared early in ancient arts becoming very significant in Greece where festivals and athletic competitions celebrated the shape and movement of the human body. From idealized statues with mathematically based proportions to the advent of abstract painting, the human body has been worshiped by artists of all genres and it is, still today, an integral part of the Fine Arts training.
