Painting

Agbezin Bamidele George was born on July 27, 1973 to Togolese and Nigerian parents in Lagos, Nigeria. He is a contemporary artist who obtained a Higher National Diploma in Fine and Applied Arts, majoring in Painting from the prestigious Institute of Management and Technology, he graduated from in 2000. Agbezin’s professional studio practice spans two decades with numerous commissions and exhibitions.

Agbezin's works consist of vibrant shades, strong architectural elements and a sense of rugged urbanity through the design and colour combination of each piece, Agbezin aims to express a wide range of emotions using limited means. His works address the everyday life, they are resolutely stylized, maintaining a curious balance between the gestural energies. With his latest study of quilt art, he now manipulates the relationship between colors, patterns, designs, and forms on rigorously textured canvases.
