Born in 1959 in Benin City, Ada Godspower is a full-time studio artist based in Lagos, Nigeria. He studied visual art and general design at a private institution in France between 1982 and 1984. Godspower later came back to Nigeria and has been practicing professionally since.
Godspower works in acrylic and oil mixed media, creating figurative and abstract works veering towards low relief collage in fabric, paper, and other recycled materials. His works have been collected by local and international collectors, as well as prominent galleries.
With many exhibitions and auctions to his credit, Godspower has made quite a few exchanges in some West African, American, and European countries, as well as Australia. Elements of his travels can be glimpsed from his colours and motifs that are sometimes added liberally. He often uses Motifs to Africanize his works.
